Hi guys,
I know it's a little too new, but really could do with some advice.
My Dad recently brought a 2002 (52) Combo van with the 1.7TDi Isuzu engine. For about a month, after about 10mins after starting it, black smoke was coming out of the exhaust and the power was down. I narrowed it down to the EGR valve, so on Friday I whipped it off to clean it. As I thought, it was full of curse word and it had seized the plunger in place. Cleaned it all out and free'd off the plunger. Bolted it all back on and pluged everything back in. Went to start it and nothing. Turns over without a problem but won't fire. Tryed bump starting it and again, nothing, so I put it down to fuel not getting to the engine. A mate came round with his diagnostic tester and it came out with the code P0251 (spill valve). Looking on the internet, this is pointing towards the EDU on the back of the pump.
I don't mind taking it off and getting it repaired, but I want to make sure that it is definatly that. Is there anything I can try before hand? and also, how the hell do you get to the thing? It's bloody tight!
Thanks guys
