today was lovely and sunny, i'd ordered some wire wheels and some vht spray to recoat my outdoor gas bottle burners
my other job was to trim 40ft in length of VERY thorny trees/bushes that have grown over our boundary.....great
so there I am, drill, wire wheels, gloves, safety glasses and chainsaw
the chainsaw was only bought for this job, it was an electric one from B & Q and although skeptical due to being cheap (£50) it is bloody ace, loads quieter than my old petrol one and much lighter. it has the Oregon blade which ive read makes all the difference, thems the ones used in the TV programme Ax Men you know
the thread title relates to my 12 yr old son, one would expect him to be glued to COD MW3 on his xbox today despite being sunny as the game is still new.
he clocked me and the tools and came outside, "dad, can I use the chainsaw" ;D
this was an easy "no" but then he spyed the drill and wire wheels and asked about them, I thought bug*er it why not, gave him a demo and made sure he wore the gloves and glasses and off he went. He stripped two bottles of rust and crud, he was there for over two hours happily wheeling away. he loved it and made a very very good job of it too
I was so proud of him, he gets to decide what colour to paint the little bottle now.
just goes to show, xbox isnt everything
