I'm after a paint i can use on a pick up bed.
I want it to be hard wearing, its not going to get much abuse, (if any) but i want somthing that is kinda rubbery finish. I'm sure there is stuff out there, i've seen it used in the states before now.
Any ideas what i can use??

i have used UPOL RAPTOR feckin brilliant stuff £50 notes for 6 tins & it go's a long way, very hary paint, there is'nt alot any better out there for sure, & its overpaintable, the other advantage is you can by it in what they call ta tintable finish so you can add a colour tint to it so it matches the bodywork!
don't use any rubberised finish, it gets splits/tears & creates rust & probloms that are a ballache to fix
upol raptor is the stuff for the job fo-sho! i cant recommend it highly enough to be honest!!!!!!!
i like it so much i bought a 2nd kit of the stuff & its under the bed reday for any future motor
it deadens sound a fair bit too-don't cheap ot on other stuff, this stuff is a do once & you can forget about it-top stuff

This UPOL stuff seems pretty good, but I have some questions! The tinter you add, does it have to be a specific type/brand or will any do? And as for painting over the top: What is the procedure for that? Another regular primer coat and then top coat? How well will regular paint/primer bond with the UPOL surface? I'm completely new to the painting cars business, so aim you answers at that level please Have a picture picture of a truck that definitely hasn't been UPOL'd

I have had a pickup up bed sprayed by a company - think it was called LineX or something similar......cost a few years ago..around £200. I built a matching trailer for the pickup and used a DIY spray in liner - Protecta Kote - around £80. There was a difference and the price reflected that. I got both beds looking similar by using a tin of B & Q gloss over the trailer bed.
It really depends on what the bed is going to be used for.....for show....go DIY. For heavy use get it sprayed in by a pro......they can vary the thickness of the material for the real load luggers!!!
