Hello.
I need some help with my fester diesels alternator. Before moving here I would use a place just outside of Nuneaton for reconditioning any broken alternators. I cant find anyone offering a similar service now Ive moved to Grimsby.
Any suggestions or recommendations greatly appreciated. I don't really want to go scrappy if i can avoid it and certainly don't want to buy a new one..
Cheers,
Alan

Hi - Thanks for the thoughts..
I'm going to send it down to the man in Nuneaton to sort it. I think its just a couple of diodes gone so its not that major.
Cheers,
Alan

There are 4 (5) things that reconditioners do.
Replace diode pack Replace brushes Replace voltage regulator Replace bearings (Paint it black, or sandblast it.)
It ain't difficult or expensive to recon it yourself.

Do it yourself. Last one I did was for a Bluebird. The bits cost less than £20 off ebay and included bearings, slip rings, rectifier and brushes. What make and model alternator is it?

Why don't you want one from a scrap yard?
Would give you time to rebuild yours then
