After having a rather drunk unlicenced/ uninsured lass park her mums clio under my lifted 4x4 the insurance have paid me out as a cash in lieu of repairs
Now I'm after some anti drunk people bars for my truck. I'm after a custom made job as i don't really want to fork out on another winch tray etc so i need one to clear whats already built onto my motor
Anyone out there willing to make one for a reasonable sum of beer tokens , or i can lug a load of stuff about for you with my truck?
Ideally needs to be kent/essex way but wont mind a mild road trip for measuring up/ fitting etc
Muchos grasias

Tricky legal aspect are bull bars. (1) against the law to sell them new unless "pedestrian friendly" hence most of the traditional suppliers stopped production. (2) against law to fit them to certain vehicles after a cut off date. (3) AFAIK not legal to retrospec fit them to older vehicles where, if already fitted, not a problem (4) insurance require informing of fitment and expect a hike in premium - friend's company wanted an additional £200 for the bull bars that have been dealer option from brand new ! Quick search of bull bar rules find this - "From 25th May 2007 for motor vehicles categorised as M1 (a passenger carrying vehicle not exceeding 3.5 tonnes and not more than 8 passengers) or N1 (a goods vehicle not exceeding 3.5 tonnes) it will only be legal to manufacturer and sell bull bars that comply with EU Directive 2005/66/EC. It will be illegal to manufacture and sell bull bars that do not conform to this legislation punishable by a maximum penalty, to be imposed within the UK, of 12 months imprisonment and/or a fine of £20,000. Operators of vehicles already fitted with these devices will not be affected" So basically you can legally only fit bull bars that conform to EU Directive 2005/66/EC eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2005:309:0037:0037:EN:PDFPaul H

I had a set on there but they were fubar'd so I'm after another set to help against tree damage when I'm offroading.
Pedestrian safety is a fair point but plastic A bars and trees don't work as i want light protection and the A bar wont do that
Id rather have a minor dink in a bar than fork out £50 a time for a bumper
Plus it'll also save my winch tray from damage and give me a better place to put my fairlead too

an odd loophole... you can fit them to the BACK of cars with very little laws stopping you
and the only "bullbars" that are allowed after 2007, are essentially big lumps of rubber. Which obviously won't help you

Hence the reason I'm willing to pay for someones time/knoweledge/ skills and materials instead of paying for a bullbar if you know what i mean

So its fine to buy a winch bumper with built in light guards, but i cant have anything that looks almost identical ( bar the winch tray) as vosa deem it illegal,
I might just take my chances as i was fine driving around with a home made one ready,
Also, in the general board theres a thread about custom CF's, my old ones on there and the bumper was mega thick metal with angular corners. All i want is a tube bumper lol
