I have been contemplating the Turbo diesel lump, as the f7p isn't the most economical for a daily in the van. that said it gets up2 120mph with no problems so certainly has its advantages, the problem is the DTI box is the same, and they are known to fail even sooner. i'm thinking the only real solution is to use the modified case of a 172/182 box with diesel inards, but i keep meaning to buy a volvo v40d and compare first as i suspect they use a driveshaft mount. In the 5 bust kangoo boxes i've seen its always a inner driveshaft joint that kills the box. rather than the old circlip problem of old.
Anyway back to the point there isn't much space behind the engine for a turbo but other than that it should work. I know there will be wiring issues, as the body control module takes out the central locking, but being a kangoo it probably wont work anyway. a 4x4 bumper will give enough space for a front mount intercooler.
What year is your kangoo? as depending on year maybe a few other issues i'm aware of.
Needs to have post 02 brakes for starters as they are barely good enough for a 1.9 na. i have kept them but destroying pads and discs but really want my van to eventually roll on some early espace wheels when i find them.
just a thought if you could find a 1.9td from a 19 i recon you could use a kangoo engine loom, that would make it a lot easier.
I need to try do this conversion and work it out more. but ideally need less cars first before i can go shopping for donors
