Story is my daily driver crapped out about a year ago so I decided to get this mk1 fiesta for to and from work ; circumstances changed and I moved house , nearer to work . So not long after getting it I had no real use for it . Good thing too as it ran a bit intermittently and I never did figure out the problem . Me and bigkev changed the carb , plugs , leads , inline fuel filter etc but it would still get to around 50mph and stutter and cut out , refusing to start again . It has been sat for most of this year , the mot and tax ran out ( sorn of course ) . Not needing to use it has meant it wasn't exactly a priority to do what I wanted to it and lately I have gained a hankering for a van . Fast forward to getting a phone call from the letting agent saying pretty much - it has to go . I was going to sell it but hadn't gotten around to it , so now to save hassle it's free to whoever is willing to trailer it home , work out why it wont run quite right , get it mot/tax and drive the thing , fast and with reckless abandon lol
I nipped off early from work today to try and get a few photos on my phone before I lost the light . It lives off the road under a tree so is covered in leaves , but is a good shell .
Caribbean blue except for the wing , front and bonnet , which are black .
stripped interior . I don't do carpet and experience with escorts has conditioned me to wanting to see any rot before it starts . I kept the door cards and seats and that's about it .
1100 , 4 speed .
Also got a box of assorted stuff . You know what it's like , spare pads , lights etc .
From what I remember driving it , it's tight enough ; I don't remember any slack in the steering or suspension . Just that cutting out fault .
So yeah , do what you want in the engine bay , go over it to make sure it's still ok , lights and that kinda curse word ; Oh yeah batterys flat . Mot it , tax it , use it !
I live in Rutland , near the A1 . Leicester / Peterborough / Corby / Newark / Lincoln are all a reasonable distance from here . I'm not putting it on the bay , can't be arsed . I'd rather give it away to someone who has the means to take it and will make use of it ; maybe someone has or knows a son it would be an ideal easy winter project for . Or strip it further , do the zetec thing and sprint/strip/fast road / hill climb ...
