I need to know how similiar the Kadett C is to a Manta A.
Ive found a rotten Manta A with a running 2.0 8v from a Cav SRi130, Manta B 5 speed box and 3.7:1 diff'd standard axle on it for a very good price.
I'm just wanting to know if all of this lot would fit on to a Chevette or Kadett saloon. I'm right in thinking that a 1.8 Manta engine and box is straight fit from a Manta B to a Chevette. As all of this is on a Manta A, it should all bolt straight up, right?

It's all roughly bolt-in. Snap it up, dude. The axle's a couple of inches wider. check www.chevettes.com for details of the swap *n

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

The prop will need chopping down. I'm not sure how much of a straight swap the axle is either, but it's pretty easy I think. Plus of course a fuel return if the engine's still on injection. Should be pretty easy though:).

yeh its a straight swap manta a axles fit under standard chevette arches the only thing that would need modifying is the prop the rest should just be a straight swap.

What I'd always wondered about was the turret situation. Will a Manta A axle go straight onto a hatch without it being turreted or are the mounts for the shocks different on the axle? Presumabley it's fine as I don't remember anyone saying about hatches and saloons having different axles.

You need to change the damper mounts, as the dampers are angled on the hatch and estate versions, and straight on the sedan/coupé.
If your car is a lesser-engined one, you must also weld new mounts for the trailing arms(?).

For the axle I have concluded that for a Kadett C saloon, I would only need to change thepanhard rod from one side to the other and it should fit as saloons have a turreted rear. How about any other compatibilities? Will the engine bolt is like it is in the Manta A? I know I will need a custom propshaft. Thanks for all this help by the way!
