The new Nissan Skyline.WTF is this hideously bland piece of wibblepoo supposed to look like? I cant believe they have got the styling so wrong It was only when I saw one in the metal, parked just 'round the corner from me,that I had a good chance to examine one up close. It sucks. They've turned an awesomely brutal looking car, into a bland Mazda/Toyota/Honda middle of the range reps Saloon How the hell can the above car,be an improvement on this

It's all because in their wisdom they've decided to separate off the GT-R name into a seperate model so the Skyline name has almost returned to it's original roots... ordinary four door saloons. I think it's a really stupid move personally as GT-R and Skyline go hand in hand. You don't mess with an iconic name such as that and trample all over the heritage. I hope Nissan pay dearly for it in the marketplace in the future.

just seen this pic of the new "R35"GTR So much for a step forwards That's not the real thing..most likely a photoshopped Infinity coupe. The proposed new "GT-R" looks like this... Which is still ugly

I've seen a few modded V35 Skyline coupes around, and IMO they look nicer than the 350Z.

Hard? I certainly am. Wish I had an R30, the most intimidating Skyline in my opinion.

Dazmax, the Skyline has always been a saloon and a coupe and sometimes an estate. The GTR is the fast one (obviously) and the non turbo saloons are bland saloons. Here's the GT coupe version of the saloon that you posted: True it is not as brutal as the 34 GTR. (Have you seen the footage of that one going round the Nurburgring? Wow!) and I think it is very close to the 350Z now but it's still a cool car. Where was this R30 Skyline sold? Charlie

I like the GT-R, but that 4-door looks like a Primera or summat. Dull as. I'd love an R30 Skyline, or one of these puppies... Yummm

There are already loads of dealerships that have deposits in the bank for the new GTR when it finally arrives. It'll be a success, just like the new Civic type R etc.
I quite like the fact they've seperated the GTR badge from the Skyline, this way they can focus on making the GTR a dedicated model, so no compromising or considering different bodystyles in the design stage. It makes sense from a branding perspective too, the BNR32/33/34 GTRs became so disjointed from lesser specced siblings by the end that most people refer to them as 'GTR's' anyway.
Me? I'd have to have an KgcP!)010 or whatever it is, one's here already or on the boat from what I heard. Although at a push I'd take an R32 GTR in white with 8x18in Advans on it...

Gutted What, you talking about Steve Lack's old car? Man, someone got a good buy there if that's the case. I don't have a problem with the G35 Skylines, they're a proper RWD saloon with a six-pot, not FWD or 4wd spun-off from a FWD platform.

The new GT-R upholds the spirit of the R30/32/34. It's pug ugly, and fast as hell.
What do you want from a skyline?

I think you are right. I think Nissan have joined this new market of budget supercars too, it seems a lot of car manufacturers are bridging the gap between the 50K-100K price range.
