Hello, I have an Alpine CDM-9807RB head unit, that has a DIN socket for connecting a cd changer. I want to use that to connect an ipod. I don't mind if I have to use the ipod controls to select tracks or play lists.
From what I can determin I have 2 options
Buy a KCE-420i from alpine which is a box of tricks to allow the ipod to be charged and controlled from the head unit
or
a cable KCM-123B, problem is that code seems to be a USA code for a cable, and I am having problems locatting that cable or its equivalent in the UK. I could try my local car audio store. But quite frankly they are expensive in the extreme ( I am not saying all car audio shops are, but these are)
Can anyone help, or could I make my own cable from bits and a soldering iron?
