You'll get a queue of work off this forum when you're testing I'd bet Nice drive out through some lovely countryside, some fun roads and a retro-friendly MOT tester at the end of it.... FTW

FTW Amen to that. Trying to find an 'understanding' tester at the moment. Nothing dangerous like - just little panickety things that other pick up on.

Just tie a £20 note round the propshaft before you go to the test centre. They become very understanding then.....

Damn true, I don`t want a dodgey MoT I just object to 18 year old testers picking faults with my car as it doesn`t look like the 3 year old Ford Mondeo at college Last year I had to get VOSA involved as the sprog testing had scraped paint off the sills looking for rust and smacked the exhaust on the ramp and then put "exhaust blowing" on the fail sheet !! Luckily I have found a decent tester this year after getting a recommendation from a mate, the Min flew through first time and the chap then kept me there for the next 1/2 hour talking about Mini`s BTW, good luck with the exam !!

yeh any of the "dodgy" testers i have known, will let a car go through assuming there is no serious rot and the brakes are ok. which is how it should be

When I had one of my Sprints in Coventry, I needed an MOT on it pronto so I just drove it to the first, rather seedy, looking garage I came to. Big burly bloke strode out, shouting "DON'T SEE MANY OF THESE NOW" .. So I looked at him oddly and gestured at the car "Need an MOT, if you could good Sir!" Cue more blank looks. He then shuffles around it looking at the dash, writes down the registration and the milage, looks at a few other things, wonders back inside. Then comes out with the completed MOT and says "that'll be 80 quid mate" ........ ;D (didn't take it up mind, got it put through a real MOT. Only failed on headlamp and a bit of handbrake adjustment
