I've not been on here for a couple of weeks as we've been house-sitting while michelles mum and dad were on holiday so my internet access has been a bit limited. Still, i managed to get down the workshop and lower the merc last weekend. It now drives like a brick but it looks awesome. Just a pity i couldnt get to the pub meet on wednesday to show it off. I'll try and get some better pics once i can get hold of a camera that works.

Thanks guys. Its actually a bit (lot) lower than i'd wanted to go but looking at it now i'd say its about spot on. The only problem is it bottoms out all the time now. I was thinking about getting some of those coil spring assistors that caravan owners use, just to stiffen the back up a bit. I took 2 coils out at the front and 1 out of the back. After i did the front the back was right up in the air and i did contemplate taking 2 out the back. Bloody glad i didnt or it would have totally undrivable ;D I'd heard that they can knock out the rear ARB links when there this low so i took the precaution of relocating the anti roll bar to the bin at the back of the workshop. I guess i'm just gonna have to live with the driveshaft issue though.

nice work dude hows progress on the others?? I've just finished the n/s strut top on the escort, o/s to do and the front panel to replace then i got to find me a pair of wings and i think (hope) thats all the welding done. The pinto that i got for the escort i decieded to stick in the cortina for a bit more poke and to use as a test bed for my megasquirt but when i cleaned the sump up i noticed it had more holes than a tea bag so i've got to find a new one before i can go any further with that. what technique did you employ for the front spring removal? They're bastards aint they ;D I gave up trying to take them right out and just compressed them enough to cut them in situ. Once i'd took a coil out they came out easy as pie though.
