	Nipped out for bread and milk thus morning and came back with a caravan (as you do ;D) Its a 19something Sprite something. Seller didnt know much, seems to have 240v, been sitting under a tree for a year or so. Gonna get it washed and have a better look round now that its home. Anyone know anything about these? £50 well spent?

	Cheap Halfords tent = £50 = Check Friday night at the boozer, keeping sober-ish = £50 = Check Daughter needs MOT and one part used tyre = £50 = Check Rescue dog rips nail from paw, cheap vet + Pensioner discount = £50 = Check Small Caravan, quick scrub, place to sleep, move on and make money, Was it a bargain? = £50 = Check This is a pretty cool purchase IMHO, small caravans seem to retain value more than the large ones.

	My guess is 1972 and if my memory serves me correctly its a Sprite Alpine. The olds had one in the early 70 the same

	Yeah defo an Alpine 12ft - we had a 400 which was the 10ft one. We used to tow it behind a Chevette, I was 10 at the time and yes it's early seventies pre 1975. They used to paint them differant colours every so often, the model after this was a lurid blue !!! Now i'll dissapear LOL good save by the way did they have orange and brown interior ??

	ohhhhh nice van, we had one for a few year best £80 we ever spent it went up and down the country. it too was parked up for a few year under a tree or 50 and was alot more greener than yours(1 inch of moss easy) was going to make atrailer from it but inside was free from damp and didnt have any damp/foisty smell. we thought it was too good to chop up so a good look round and a quick clean and a bit of elbow grease we had a cheap van that lasted us 3 year! will dig some pics out p.s will send a post code for you to look up its also on google street veiw outside our old house getting set for a trip out

	A good buy all round I'd say! Apart from obviously using it as a caravan, it'd probably break into scrap ally, copper, steel and trailer-ish parts for a profit!

	Cheers for the comments guys. Seems to be a 4 berth Alpine. Interior a bit musty and needs a good clean but will get the carpet cleaner on it during.the week. Looks ok in photos though. Must have been brown and orange interior but someone has had a go at refreshing it a bit. Part of the reason for buying it is because my folks and a bigger version of this (Major?) in the 80s. Will dig out a.photo.at some point!

	The one the olds had was the 12` Alpine with the toilet/washroom at the front next to the door and was a 5 berth. The next model up was the Muskateer at 14` and then the 16` Major.

	We've got a Muskateer.... Not sure what year it is..probably about 1970 I'd guess. We've only actually used it twice as it's a but big really. I'd love to find a 400 or even the miniscule Cadet which I think was only about 8ft long with the door in the back!

	We had a sprite Muskateer for years as well, served us very well, wonderful old thing it was. Then my parents bought a Swift Challenger 490/5 SE, different world entirely, pure luxury in comparison ;D

	An offcut of carpet, a good scrub and some throws over the seats and that will look well tidy. I had one similar as a mini-youth centre for the kids in the garden. Got it for nowt from a mate who had used it for holidays for him,his two small girls and his rather rotund wife. When he got divorced from "That fat fkin' bearded welsh lesbian'' (his words!), he remarked after a weekend in the caravan with his two daughters- ''The caravan was actually quite roomy....... especially now that Fatso's not blocking out all the light like a fkin' eclipse!!!'' Wish I'd kept it but the daughter grew out of it so I put it in the free ads and gave it away.

The colour is very thin and you can go through it with T Cut if you're not carefull. A polish won't make it glossy but it will stop it from being totally matt.

	nice old caravan its deffo an early one from looking at the hitch head you'll never get a super shiney finish on the paint as I'm sure they were done in matt
