Apparently washing greasy bits in the sink / bath / dishwasher is somehow construed as 'not acceptable behaviour', mostly by womenfolk. So who can recommend a decent parts washer thingy, and a good source from which to obtain one? Ta muchly.

Haha! What's the odds that the pots got washed up in the same water Anyhows, Russell-Commer-Beast has just procured an old dishwasher for the purposes for the princely sum of £0.00.

If it helps, Practical Classics named the Clarke CW1D (£80ish) as the Best Buy and the Clarke CW2D (£40ish) as the Best Budget Buy. Hope this helps,
Keith

Just as a precaution, I'd check to see how big the drainage hole is in the dishwasher - too big and you might start losing smaller parts!

I've got the cheapy clarke one. its alright, but only does small parts, essex heads don't really fit also you can only use certain types of wash fluid in them. parrafin is most certainly out. it isn't just any water soluble stuff you can use. for instance, I can't use my morris lydian (fantastic degreaser) in it although its water soluble??? generally I just wash stuff off over the neighbours fence

Apparently washing greasy bits in the sink / bath / dishwasher is somehow construed as 'not acceptable behaviour', mostly by womenfolk. Oh shitsocks! Anyhoo click to be linked up good style. P.S. an old free dishwasher is obviously preferable...wonder if diswashers would last a couple of washes with de-greaser in them.

tigran; thats the one I've got. old twin tub washing drum is the best for parts washing, they're stainless too. I should get my backside in gear and finish my hybrid grease-eater...... and sinks wash down clean, my old man washed a block down, inside and out, with parrafin on the kitchen lino
