Hi, My MK2 fiesta pop plus suspension is really soft and rather bouncy. Would MK2 XR2 suspension fit?? and if so is it set much stiffer?? Cheers

It will, as the very first mod I did to a car was to fit XR2 suspension & pepperpots to my 1.6 diesel popular plus in about 1996!
This worked perfectly well on mine, but the diesel is slightly up on the XR2 in weight, on an OHV engined one, the front end will probably sit up a bit on standard XR2 springs, so you may want to take a coil off.
I carried all the XR2 rear beam, hubs, calipers, discs etc over as well to improve the (woeful) standard brakes - from memory, the XR rear drums are a bit beefier and the front discs are vented rather than solid?

rear beam and front hubs are same across the range.
front brakes are vented and calipers are bigger. rear drums are a little bigger i think as are the shoes, but they are no longer made

Haha, OK thanks for that. Once the XR2 suspension was it much stiffer??

If it were me, I would just either chop a coil or 2 off the springs all round or get lowered springs for the car. In addition, some new dampers too.
You would be surprised how old dampers can deteriorate over time when you go over to new dampers.
But from what I know, yes you can put on an XR2 setup.
