I´ve got the urge for a Range Rover classic in Matt Black just like the one in Underworld Evolution. Very hard looking vehicle! American spec as well because it has the front indicators on. Makes it look even better. They always use cool looking black vehicles in those films.

Black Range Rover's are TEH WIN!!!! Here's a pic of Russell the Commer Molester's old one. It was a bit of a shed but it terrified other road users and PWNED the muddy stuff too. ACE.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Re-anim.... Listen to the voices in your head.... dooooooo iiiiit! An RR would be great for your 'photographic haulage' needs... Quick, comfy, spacious, reliable and bung it on LPG for cheap running costs. I came within a whisker of buying one the other week for a paltry £300 for a 3-9 engined one. OK, so it was pretty knack'd internally, but as I'd only use it for mudding etc. I couldn't care about that.

I would only use one to go mudding as well, oh and scare people! ;D

This thread is right up my street! Some may have seen this in reader's rides but I felt I had to post it up again. This is the best £300 I've ever spent, purely for mud plugging. It looks mean as hell and sounds even meaner with its meaty 3.5 v8 minus functioning exhaust. Lights and grille were removed by previous owner because they trapped mud, but I think this adds to the character! The bodywork is near scrap but the chassis, gearbox and engine are sound (apart from the starter motor, but I have plenty of them) so it's got it where it counts. It was a bargain considering the tyres are nearly worth as much as a car. Now after getting one offroad, I really want a road going version Safe to say range rovers are brilliant!

ACE. this motor was quite possibly the maddest contraption to drive on and off the road, it was too unstable on the queens highway but bychrist did it go fast, it sounded like santa pod as there was no exhaust what so ever and it cost about a £1 a mile to run! Facking cheap insurance though, £175 fully comp on a limited milage policy!

My only experience of a Rangy was a really old one we had as a company tow wagon at a trailer place I used to work at. From what I remember it went like the clappers but was like piloting an under-inflated rubber dingy. The steering wheel seemed to be quite loosely connected to the front wheels and it was the slackest, wobbliest contraption I've ever driven. It was still comfy and good fun though. Shame I never got to take it off road as I'm sure it would have been much better suited to it ;D

defo on the list, where can you go to 'off road'? do you get done often? Get yourself some of the ordnance survey 'explorer' maps... and work out where the 'public byways' go. If it's a public byway then technically it is open to all vehicles - although some have barriers across them (just go around! ;D ) and others are really, really rough terrain )... then just get out there and play!! A range-rover is by far one of the best tools for the job - as indestructable as an old Landie, with the added advantage of 'proper' suspension and meaty V8 sound-track.
