as some of you may know i have done a deal with the van for a new motor well friday i went a collected the new car all did not go to plan .
the idea was to go and collect it on my friends trailer but due to all these rules on trailers and the apparent purge on them at the moment we decided it would be better to use my friends van with the trailer than my A4 . so we went and collected the trailer but had to pull a Renault traffic off the trailer and pump 2 of it tires up first on hooking it up to the van we noticed that only half of the lights were working , no problem quick mess about with the lead and all was good we set off around 7pm bound for rigate only to turn back after about a mile due to a bad vibration from the trailer turns out the tire being flat was more than just a slow puncture . as luck would have it earlier that day i had arranged insurance cover for the new car so driving it back wasn't really that big a deal . we arrived at rigate for about 9pm did the usual catch up and chat with my mate Monkey who i am doing the deal with and then got on the business of getting the car and heading home .
Monkey went through the cars details with me and showed me what was what started the car and pulled it off the drive little bit more chatting and then we we off as time was getting on and its not the quietest of cars ;D 10pm at this point . i fired the car up and it cut out so tried again and it cut out again yep you guessed it it was out of juice ;D not a problem there was a petrol station on our way in to his estate armed with a 20ltr jerry can off we went in the van to get some fuel only to find the station closed took another 2 stations and 4 miles find one that was open
back to the car and filled up and we were off now 10:30pm made a b line for the same fuel station to finish filling up the car pulled into the station and fueled up at last we were on our way or so we thought yep battery was flat and the car wouldn't start and we had no jump leads at this point the car had got a bit of attention and a local young kid in a turbo'd golf offered to go home and get his jump leads for us while the car was sat getting attention a police car had pulled in and we were getting a bit worried about the noise the car would have made when it started may get the wrong attention for the police officer but he pulled off before the car was back up and running . the young guy came back about 15 mins later with a car full of friends that he wanted to show the car to and just as we hooked up the booster cables another copper pulled in for fuel typical . i couldn't keep the young guy and his friends waiting any longer though and had to just start it and hope he liked loud cars ;D with car back up and running we slowly drove past the police car and he dully followed us out of the fuel station so keeping a close eye on the speedo we drove up the road hoping he didn't pull us over as the battery would have still been flat and we really just wanted to get home at this point now about 11:30 .
I was following my mate in his van as he had my satnav in there which decided to take the scenic route ;D we finally got back to the workshop at about 12:45 taking a steady 60 mph run back though i can't be held responsible for the noise the car may have made in the dartford tunnel ;D ;D
anyway pics of the new car
