Can you please explain where the additional 40bhp has come from? These engines have 192bhp as standard, so and extra 20% from a normally aspirated engine must have taken some work. Do you have receipts for the work etc?

Probably a manifold and throttle body change

325i manifold, big bore throttle body, simota carbon airbox/airfilter, and a custom evolve remap to set it all up properly. The car revs cleanly up to the redline with no hesitation as normal 328i's have after 4.5k

These engines have 192bhp as standard, 193 18-25 325i manifold, big bore throttle body, simota carbon airbox/airfilter, and a custom evolve remap to set it all up properly. "big bore" TB is otherwise known as the M50 engine TB, and accounts for some of the increase expected when the I.M. is changed over. Have you any RR proof of the power? It's best to have proof if you want to state a power figure after modifications.

No RR prints as i lost the paperwork aages ago. This isnt a m50 tb - its the m52 with a few mm shaved from the inside and a new flap manufactured. The whole kit is properly machined and has an oem quality feel to it - not a diy job!
As stated, the manifold gives about 20bhp, add the airfilter (dyno tested by evolve to give between 10-15bhp on its own) - lets say 10bhp and a proper remap (+10) = 230bhp!

That's a rather nice looking car 230BHP or not, to be on the safe side though I'd stick and "approx" after the figure, to stop the stains on this forum who seem intent on hijacking threads, good luck with the sale for what is let's face it a cheap nice looking convertible!

my 328i dyno'd at 207.8bhp only mod was a panel filter, fitted M50 manifold since and mapped but not yet got it on a rr
so around 230bhp is possible
Nice looking motor

I've deleted a lot of sillyness from this thread - genuine questions from those with an interest in buying is fine, but slanging matches over vehicle specs / peoples spelling is not.
As always we urge buyers to do their research and ask the right questions before parting with money, but ultimately it is their responsibility, not anyone elses.

These engines have 192bhp as standard, 193 big bore TB is otherwise known as the M50 engine TB, if you wanna be totally pedantic its 193ps not bhp oh and the big bore tb is NOT likely to be the M50B25 one its usually an M52 item that is bored out a little - and is fitted in conjunction with an M50B25 inlet manifold and pipework (usually a bodge - albeit one that works ok as long as there no air leaks - but there are some decent pipework kits about) this usually gives a genuine210 - 215 bhp your not likely to see 230bhp without cams as well - but then RR flywheel printouts arent exactly accurate are they. LOL OP good luck with the sale.

WTF?? What is it with people on this forum dissing my car without ever seeing it??
How dare you accuse my modifications of being a 'bodge' - Have you seen the car? have you even called me up to enquire about the mods? 230bhp out of an m52 is a common mod and there are lots of people who have done it!!

I think the basic rule of if you're not interesting in buying then please keep your opinions to yourself should apply here! Leave the poor guy and his car alone, he's put up synonym proof of it's power output up and still you're all picking fault with it! OP - Glws, have you tried advertising it on the BMW forums? I'm sure someone will snap it up on there....
