I find 99.3% of concept cars an irritating waste of chops. 'Ooh look, an interestingly styled lump of clay, which will probably never go into production, but instead on or two loose 'themes' will be seen on the next gen euro-blob, causing maximum disappointment' Why not just surprise us with the new cars, rather than giving us hints with concept cars and then selling us a massively watered down version.

Although that may be the case now, the good concept cars of the 60's were generally made in the 70's, normally by Citroen! Now most have lost their balls and prefer to make generic euroboxes to ferry blobs of lard from one motorway junction to another.
Even Citroen lost their way after the BX... Were it not for the likes of GTM, Noble, TVR and other low volume manufacturers the roads would be barren of emotion almost altogether!

I agree, but manufacturers only build cars they can sell. If Mr Beige in Slough turns his nose up the company loses millions. A good example is the Renault Avantime / Vel Satis. They really tried to break the mould and consequently no f*cker bought them It's a sad state of affairs.

Not necessarily my favourite as I dig some of the 50's space age stuff but this is probably the one I've seen in most detail as it was freshened up before sale not long ago in a garage in Ealing.... It is so low and the interior is just unbeleiveable in real life!

Without a doubt, my favorite ever is the 1970 Datsun 126X. If I had the money I'd build a perfect replica and drive it around ;D It's mid engined with a transverse 3.0L straight six. The original show car still exists too. a swift trip to the loft to unearth this. my matchbox one which is a little worse for wear. this is the first time its seen the light of day for over 20 years. *sorry for pic quality.
