	The Golf failed its MOT today (Not supprising) with a CO2 reading of 4.48% Am I right in thinking the CO2 adustment screw is the one you can access from the rubber bung on top of the air filter? And if so where should it be adjusted to? For example, screw all the way down the out "x" amount of turns, or is this something youd need hooked up to a CO2 meter while you adjust. 	i have the haynes manual on pierburg solex ill look up the setting if u like? what engine is it also cat or no cat?

	My old G reg Golf 1.8 GL failed on emmisions. No amount of "tinkering" with Piesburg carb got the levels down (I've got a Gunsons CO2 meter) so I ended up fitting a brand new Weber. At the time the concensous was Piersburgs are good carbs when working but can be nightmare when they go wrong. Waste of time adjusting without decent CO2 meter (Gunsons isn't accurate enough) if it's got to be reduced for MOT. Most testers will adjust for a few quid. Paul H

	Thanks peeps, local garage 'tuned' it up and it passed with flying colors, down to 1.something% Though I'm not sure what was involved in the tune up. I guess it was the CO2 screw.
