Nice car but I wouldnt touch it with a barge pole. It is a cut monocoque, so will need IVA and iirc there is still no IVA category for commercial home-builds.
You could probably get away with running it as-is for a while, but once investigated, thats it off the road.

Could the buyer not just say that he built it?

I'm not sure that lying in an IVA is a good idea. There would be plenty of documented evidence to contradict someone who said he build it. Like this thread and the ebay ad for instance.

Nice idea and paintwork but you've lost the rear seas, and have problems loading anything into the back as it is just buy a P100 +1 Sounds like the way forward, then change the engine / rims / slam / repaint as you like it Not sure, but do P100 have a separate chassis, if so you have even more options on changing the body

As said, can't see the point when the P100 is a pre-built version...

I thought P100s were monocoque shell then separate chassis under the bed?

I thought P100s were monocoque shell then separate chassis under the bed? Pretty sure they are - at least the Sierra version, not so sure about the earlier Cortinian (sp) version

I will get round to finishing it at some point

Could the buyer not just say that he built it? Amateur build requires photographic evidence of the entire project, so unless you fancy dismantling the entire car, undoing all the mods, then starting the build all over again, taking pics along the way, then you're not going to persuade the testers.

Looks cooler than a P100 imo. Shame it can't be legal.

They are Sierra from the seats forwards, the chassis is welded to the cab under the floor, there are large box sections in the floor that prevent the adustable height seat frames being fitted, but the P100 frame will accept a stock Sierra seat, front legs are longer (granada scorpio sized possibly?) so if you fit sierra ones it instantly drops the front a couple of inches. I fitted the whole front from an XR4x4 into mine, left it all bolted to the crossmember and wheeled it straight in, also fitted the loom, dash, recaros, doors with leccy windows and mirrors etc etc. all the holes are already in them, even the ABS system bolted straight in. rear end is just leaves and live axle, but as you can see theres plenty of room to fit what you like under there. P.S. Most P100's will be a LOT more rusty than mine was especially the bed and if your unlucky the back of the cab where it joins the chassis
