My brake lights are not working i need to swap the switch,Do i have to bleed the brakes after i have fitted the switch as its the kind that screws in the 4 way junction box in the brake line.Can i just unscrew the old one fit the new one.

No, you will have to bleed it, it's a hydraulic connection.

You could fit a pedal operated switch to the brake pedal instead

^^^ id be doing this i think ;D might take a liitle while longer to rewire, but one less thing to faff with in the brake line  |

I'd go with whatever meant less cocking about... if your bleed nipples come undone nicely, and the fluid hasn't been changed in a year or so, I'd bleed the system.
fresh fluid = better
