Anyone have any pictures? I would like to see exactly how low profile they are and how they look. I've seen 175/50 R13s and they look very low profile, so the larger wheel size would make them look even lower profile?

I couldnt find 175's or even 185's when I was looking. They said "no such size mate", although blatently there is  Had to have 195's in the end  |

i've never heard of a 175 50 15, smart cars use 175 55 15's on the rear though if that's what you're thinking of?   |

Mytyres.co.uk sell 175/50 15s, as do blackcircles. They are much cheaper than 195/45s. Anyone know what car they might come on as original spec?
I'm thinking these tyres + MINI steels + mk1 Astra = mmmmmmmmm

Here are my 185 50 Nankangs on 7" X 15" rims. £126 for four from mytyres.com.   As you can see the rim edge sits proud of the tyre wall so I can't go near curbs but the stretch isn't too much and the bloke who fitted them didn't say a word. Charlie |

The MINI steels are 15x6 and come with 175/65s as standard, so I think 175/50s should be fine! Well, at £40 a tyre I think its worth a go!

the 15" tyres would be the same profile (height) as the 13" ones... basically the /50 means the side of the tyre is 50% of the width. |

I wanted 165/50s on my 7x15s, but the tyre fitter guy said i was stoopid and set me up with 195/45s. 165/50s look very stretched and very low profile on a 7, look especially good tyres that have 'rim protectors' like Toyo Proxes, because that rolls out a bit to reveal the bead of the rim a bit more This is 165/50 on a 7.5  |
