Hi dom
Ive been looking for a similar spaced manifold, but i cant afford to keep buying them! I'm either going to do the injectors in the top of the plenum, so get a set of bike throttle bodies, only problem with that is can they handle boost?
Looking closer at the chage cooler i do SWYM! I keep forgetting that in the end, the air isnt making its own way, its being pushed damn hard by that blower!
What are you doing for a bypass? recirculating? Fresh air?

Cheers J Bike Throttle bodies can handle boost so might be a way to go ? Still have to make up a Plenum and manifold though  Yes it would be better with bellmouths inside but I don't think I will lose too much by not having them As for bypass, I am going for Recirculating, probably using 2 Recirc Dump valves, a butterfly would be better but again packaging constraints and finding one for a sensible price is proving difficult  You need to run 2 valves though as you are actually flowing air through rather than Venting pressure as on a Turbo, and a single valve wont flow enough on Bypass The other way of doing it is with a Fly by wire Throttle controlled Via the ECU if you have that functionality ? Smart car is about the right size and I may do this later on as you can use it as a kind of boost control as well ;D Cheers Dom |

well ive just bought a set of CRB600 throttle bodies, whoop!
I did a traction control assignment at university, and one of my solutions used a boost limiting algorithm, could be worth looking into with the butterfly udmp valve?

well i have a full matlab simulation running if your interested? My best one was a cvt final drive that changed ratio depending on slip ratio front to rear!
Going to do some carbon work next i recon, never done it at home before so will be quite an experience. I'm going to do a plenum chamber and a combined backplate/trumpets that will all bolt together!

J Cool, you`ll be wanting a look in here then : www.mci.i12.com/carbon/Some really good Homebuild techniques Lost Foam is Excellent for one offs, I did the Carbon Fuel Tank on Janes Bike like it Worked really well Guy at work made his own carbon plenum, twin chamber (One round main, one taper feed) like the Audi quattros for equal mixture distribution, that had full radius trumpets in as well Its fitted to a Turbo charged Renault Clio williams motor and without the restrictor runs close to 450hp with full antilag ;D I`ve done quite a bit of Composite stuff over the years both home grown and proffesionally with Prepreg etc.... Its my tool of choice for one offs I`m much better with Glass and Carbon than a welder ;D |

Other trick is Buy a cheap Compressor and change the unions round, gives you a vacuum Tank then as well As for supplies, the Links are on teh PC at home, but most of the time I use my local Yacht builders, CYB on Canvey, they stock polyester, Vinylester and West system epoxy resins, as well as Glass and carbon Ebay can be a useful supplier of handy stuff like Kevlar/carbon tapes and Socks You will need to do the Plenum and runners in Epoxy as its fuel proof, polyester will melt don't be fooled into thinking you have to make everything either, you can buy some nice Carbon tubes off the shelf That gives you plenum and runners so you can make ends to suit, epoxy them all together and smooth to finish.... Its good fun and the lost foam method I find really useful, as you don't need to make moulds, takes a bit more work to get a Nice finish but for Manifolds and tanks its fine |

Cheers J Hi James, I have some 32mm bosch TB from a BMW K75 very need in 4 indivdual runners ie 4x 32mm with curved intakes and NO injector port... can have a look at them if you want - mucg more compact than the Honda Keihin jobs Si |
