That zetec will pep it up..
Keeping an eye on your headlight surrounds as i wanna do the same on mine..
Are those top mounts nissan 200sx ones???

A couple of other things that I did this year but failed to chronicle are the bonnet scoop and the roof rails. In a desperate and ill thought out attempt to help vent the oil fumes from under the bonnet I started looking around for a suitably rectangular but low level scoop and decided on a copy of an Isuzu Trooper scoop which fitted the bill perfectly. It was only when I was at The Gathering that I noticed how popular they are with Nova owners, amongst others. The other mod was more out of necessity as I needed to borrow a pair of ladders and had no way of transporting them so started to look around for squarish cars with roof bars and when a chap up the top of the road drove past in his Vauxhall Frontera I knew I had found a perfect match. A second hand pair from a scrappy soon arrived and although not perfect didn't fit too badly once I had drilled some bl**dy great bigs holes in the roof. A pair of generic cross bars soon made up a suitable roof rack which handled the ladders easily and I'm sure they come in useful again one day, maybe. I think they look pretty good anyway. You may have to wait a while as I'm a lazy f*cker at the best of times. No, the top mounts are Ford Escort and at the time were readily available on eBay but I can't see any of the same sort at the moment but there are plenty of other makes on there now. |

Any updates yet??? Loving the roof bars and bonnet vent.. Been looking at some wind deflectors for the front windows on my ranger!! Nope, none at all. It's tucked away in the corner of the car park probably until next year now. Thanks, I had been wanting roof bars for a while and then I needed some to move some ladders so had to find some and fit them and am happy with how they look and perform. Bonnet vent was purely to let the oil smoke out but it is subtle yet purposeful and nice and rectangular like the car. I too am keeping my eyes peeled for some wind deflectors but so far nothing that fits but I think some would look good. |

I know this is a old thread. Ive just read through it. What was the poundage of the front springs you used ? And were they standard MK2 springs just 3 inch lower than standard ?(Ive used 180lbs 2 inch lower springs on Escorts in the past). Ive got a Ranger I want to lower. Cheers

Cheers If I remember correctly the springs were 10.5" long and 185lbs and if you look on page 6 you will see the 2.25" coilover conversion I did on the Escort struts which allows me to raise and lower the front end quite easily. |

I sold it today as a bare shell and some suspension parts etc. I hope the new owner will get it up and running again complete with a 2ltr Zetec, fingers crossed.
End of an era, or possible error, for me.
