ok, i have been working on my new dolomite for a couple of weeks now, i have just finished a suspenstion upgrade, I'm going for the "raked" look with some bigger wheels at the back. but..... this is the problem. As I'm young and still learing i have no idea what would fit the dolly hub, so does anybody have any clues? also would a bigger tyre on the rims i have, acheive the same effect?
cheers ryan

A quick squint at the Retro Rides PCD-o-matic reveals... nothing . I'm sure one of the Dolly boys like Lewisk78 will be able to tell you what the PCD is. A taller profile tyre on the back would achieve the desired effect, but as it's RWD it will throw your speedo out. I'd go for lower profile tyres on the front, but then you run the risk of them looking lost in the wheelarches (unless you chop the front springs ;D ) Please please please don't fit minilites! There are so many other wheels out there and every other Brit classic has 'em

I reckon a slightly higher profile tyre at the back and a bit of 'stick-attention' to the front would work.

Dolomites are 4x3.75" PCD. Look out for wheels intended for small Triumphs (Herald, Vitesse, Spitfire, GT6, TR7) and Marinas. You may also have some luck with some later MGs (MGF, Maestro/Montego) and early Lotus which used Triumph based suspension.

If Mongtego/Maestro wheels fit, go for the MG monty wheels, they look great IMO! I reckon all your rake should be done with dropping the front suspension and/or even jacking up the rear a bit rather than different tyre profiles..... think big/small combos work best on big saloons IMO, plus you wont have any trouble with the speedo bieng inacurate when you get bigger rear tyres

and again cheers, all points that i havent considered, as far as suspension goes the rear has been made slightly higer around an inch and a half, and the front needs to come down still, I'm thinking super low

I wouldn't lower the front too much Ryan - they can't take it. An inch is low enough, you'll still hit the sump/sub/exhaust downpipe on speedhumps with an inch off. 2 inches and you'll lose the sump. ABW was dropped 1.5" and I took the downpipe clean off on a pothole when I was driving. STM was 3" and you couldn't move it without it grinding on the floor.....was horrible and knackered the handling, too. You can see all the strike points on the underside of mine, it's not healthy for it! Easier option is to fit bigger rubber, which has other benifits too. Recommended is 185 profile, but you can go up to 210's I think by rolling the inner arches. The PCD is 3¾"(95.25mm) PCD .....wheels that will fit are Wolfraces, Wellers, Revolutions, ...quite a few. There is no room for negotiating there, it HAS to be 95.25. Maximum width you can fit is 6" with standard, possibly slightly rolled, arches. Best suspension setting is 1" drop all round, 200lb springs on the front, 175s on the rear, or 175 all round with 185 profile rubber. See my thread here: retrorides.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1145548058For loads of wheel options and looks
