Good work, even the buyer on the first auction and vendor on the second are the same - he hasn't even tried to hide it

Now that really is stoooopid.
But it happens all the time.
A few years back I sold my Astra Mk3 HI-TORQ for £695 showing 168,000 on the clock. It was super-mint for the mileage, and I thought it odd that the buyer wasn't interested in the comprehensive service history.
A couple of weeks later it turned up on a stealer's forecourt, mysteriosly having done only 72,000 miles.....
Obv. I dobbed the fella in like, just for a laugh (and cos it pee'd me off a bit - i was proud of having such a clean monster-miler).

Question for eBay seller mr_shotter, Was driving 75,000 miles in reverse difficult? It's just that it's the only explanation I can come up with for this same car being advertised a while back with 147,000 miles on the clock. Other than it being clocked, but nobody would do that surely?! ;D

So he wont be passing on MOT certs etc then. Having a service history is nearly as good as low miles anyway. cant believe that at all!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

It is lunacy. I wouldn't buy a car like that without a service history or fat wad of reciepts / documentation. Put it like this, I've had a few 'high mileage' cars, but they've all have full histories and I've been confident that they will be up to the task in hand. Our fambly focus has done 150,000+, but came pretty much direct from a leasing company with full documentation of everything done. Ever. And my BMW is now over 170,000 but I have every receipt from new (totalling thousands) plus a service book with so many stamps it's had extra pages added. Gives me no reason to worry.

What a cock. Think I'll ask a harrowing question too (I'm mad me!).
Pog - good work on grassing him up. Bastards like this should be hung out to dry.

I`ve got a funny feeling that`s what`s going to happen when I finally sell the Focus It lost 40,000 + miles when the dash was replaced by the main dealer under warranty and they were unable to correct the mileage. I will tell whoever I sell the car to and give them the service book with the letter from the main dealer detailing the mileage when the speedo was swapped. But what`s stopping some unscrupulous person either losing the service book or getting another and selling it as a low mileage car ? Even the MoT`s wouldn`t help as the speedo was done well before the first MoT

I find it sad that buyers would be ignorant enough to buy a car like that without question. Last few years of MOTs and service history tell a better story than the speedo.

Yes, but in stating that the car is HPi clear, this guy is deliberately trying to to mislead the punter. An HPi check would throw up it's true mileage, n'est pas?
There is a world of difference between a punter who is a bit thick when it comes to buying, and a seller who deliberately sets out to defraud....

He's even used the same text (except he changed the mileage and added a lie about the wheels in his own poor English!).

Oh so he's saying when you have the engine replaced/refurbished you are allowed to roll the clocks back (boom boom) and all the other components magically fix themselves - with the help of the pixies of course, oh and the fairies.
My reply from him:
"yeah mileage was fixed as i changed the engine"
