So my S12 has semi-trailing arm rear suspension;
It had a brake flexi pipe that runs from the body to the suspension arm, a hardline that ran along the arm itself where it meets a second flexi that ran into the caliper. I'm not sure why it has two flexis per side but most s/trailing arms do - maybe to account for the arm itself flexing ?
Anyhow I'm replacing the lot but the plastic clips that held the hardline to the arm disintegrated on removal and I can't find replacements.
Question is, both the fexis are rigid mounted to the arm via brackets. If the hardline is only fixed at these two points via the unions would it still be considerd properly mounted ?
One option would be to drill a small hole or two and use any old clip to hold the hardline.
Another option is to run an extra long flexi, eliminating the short hardline section. Earls do custom lengths of braided and not silly money though I don't fancy introducing any unnecessary flex into the system.
