well I didn't think I'd be doing this but the only two vehicles I havent, but ,wanted to own in the VW fleet are a splitty and a trekker and the later has come up for sale very close to me and within my price range so........
the basics:
Mk1 Caddy.............this can come with tax also as it is insured so can be fully road legal to drive away
imo, most importantly its MOT'd, until next May. Its done about 5 miles since passing as I parked it on the drive to "work" on it. Insurance and tax were coming when funds allowed. now Insured but no tax as yet.
5 speed box that doesnt struggle to find the gears like some i've had.
1.6 standard diesel engine
clocks say 202k, no idea if this is genuine or had a change of clocks at some point.
comes with covert immobiliser!!!!!!
It was left for 6 weeks at one point and started straight away
Key matches doors and ignition.
Very Solid body and bed. Standard at the mo, again when funds allowed it was gonna be slammed by Tiddy.
The paint is thick in my opinion, not too bad looking but if you know what your doing I'm "fairly" confident it could be made to look a whole lot better with little work, I was at the mercy of shop prices as I don't have mates in the spraying game so again when funds allowed....
I think ive been a bit hard on the ole girl, gave her a wash today and to be honest she doesnt look too bad, slammed you could easily rock around in it like this
It comes with near mint rainbow seats and everything on it works as it should. It also has a near mint dash.
It had the driver door replaced with a mint one.
Door handles changed for very good condition ones,
===================================================================================================
1) only bad bits are after I had a poke around with a screwdriver I poked a hole in the passenger footwell :I .................pic included.
2) bit tatty behind the bubble window at the base - see pic
3) minor water leak from near throttle pedal (reg suggested tackling it from the engine bay side) it only leaks when washed, doesnt leak in normal downpour, if that makes sense.
4) not bad as such but swage lines deleted, some like this but I don't.
5) tailgate brackets cut off by someone prior to me however Ive sourced a spare set just needs welding on. so not a real negative I guess.
Price is £950 as is or whatever tax is on top................(sport bumper not included in sale)
time for pics:
whilst I need to sell the caddy to fund the Trekker I can "borrow" that money from limited savings so i'm not up sh*t creek having to sell the caddy for a stupid price. Ive had enough of them to know what a good one is worth so no insults please
feel free to pm me anything ive missed or you need to ask. Ive shown good and bad and been as honest with the caddy as I can :thumbs_up
