Hi folks…
I am trying to price up the parts to make some adjustable TCA’s & compression struts for a project, to fit a 4x4 Sierra hub, as I have read bad things about the cheaper ‘off the shelf’ ones & it is going into what could be described as a “non-standard application” anyway.
Anybody know if there are any companies that supply aftermarket ball joints that are threaded on the TCA end, but still have the unthreaded Ford pinch bolt fitting on the hub end?
I am aware that some rally cars use a female threaded insert that screws over an aftermarket ball joint to allow pinch bolt location, but because the aftermarket joints tend to be M12 to M12 or M10 to M10, this would necessitate using very high spec joint, and we are only planning to “knock something up” to see if it works as designed.
If not, I think I will have to try out the future father in-law’s lathe and try making some locating pins to use a rod-end type joint instead...
Some cool Fords for karma:
