Here's one I spotted in the car park of the kit car show a few months ago: Performance-wise, they've got 115bhp and sprint to 60 in just over 7 seconds.

I'm a mate of Ivan Mcutcheon (Volksworld editor) and long before he was into V-dubs he had a MKI XR2 which we at the time thought was the nuts Out driving one day, there was a scream and a yellow blur overtaking us.It was one of the first of the 5 turbos in this country. Neither of us could believe it was a Renault 5.And thats the lasting memory I always get of these cars, awesome piece of kit

They were never really about power. Despite being only RWD they were more than capable of beating the broup B supercars on tarmac. They handle really really well (if your good).

Remember how easily tunable the R% Turbo lump is too? Adjustable boost controller = win. *n

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

Performance-wise, they've got 115bhp and sprint to 60 in just over 7 seconds. the turbo 2's have 160 brake and hit 60 in 6.6 ;D But they can be taken to 350hp ;D Awesome bit of kit, you cant compare to the Clio V6..... similar concept trading on the Turbo2`s success but a world apart in ability and Kudos..... the Turbo 1 and 2 were proper Group B homologation specials, the Clio was a road car and about twice as heavy The handling quirks are similar though, but the Clio suffers more as it has a Big V6 slung further rearwards, the T1 and T2 were Londitudinal Mid engined, so better balanced one of my all time favourite cars ;D

Here's one I spotted in the car park of the kit car show a few months ago: Performance-wise, they've got 115bhp and sprint to 60 in just over 7 seconds. 115bhp is the R5Gordini turbo - Front wheel drive. The Turbo 2 is (as mentioned by others) 160bhp and mid-engined - Rear wheel drive. There's a white rust shed of a car that comes up on ebay occasionally for 3-4K (worth 3-400), but I haven't seen a decent one under 12k for a few years now. John Price Rallying sold a yellow/black/white one for over 20k.The one at CARS was actually at the previous years retro car show with a different owner and changed hands for around the 20k mark.
