just got back from the first road trip in the new passat b3 1.6td
took it on a run from brum to london to go to the ace cafe and then into central london to the southbank
the car was running sweet as on the drive down sticking to 70-80mph on the motorway (had father in law in car so couldnt speed)
got to the outskirts of london in the traffic and the temp was getting to around 90-95 on the temp gauge which isnthot but the idle started to really drop at this point and would stall when stopped at lights ect
driving round central london as you can imagine was fun with all the stop and start having to keep the revs up and also trying the enrichment level to give it a bit more.
when the idle also drops it it seams to take a few seconds of the foot on the accelerator until the revs kick in . like a massive turbo lag feeling but in first gear off the lights.
the cold idle is fractionally high but i don't want to lower it yet until i can figure out what is wrong with the hot idle
also the trip showed a lower mpg it has been around 44.7mpg but the trip to london was averaging 35.72mpg not ideal for a diesel driving slowly
any ideas where to look?
