Looks very nice and a lucky find, the rust was virtually nothing for one of those Are you tempted to fit the orange RS2000 decals? Looks like it has a lot of original RS stuff, ie. the sump, bellhousing, engine mounts & the Type E gearbox etc.. And I bet those IDF's sound nice too

Thanks! In retrospect it was a very good shell, only minor rot in the most typical area's. The donor Escort was "re-shelled" and an Original RS car.As the previous owner crashed the car he buy a bog standart 4 door and fit all the RS stuff...... And there was much of the very expensive stuff in.... ....alone the Atlas axle is a genuine RS item and cost now a fortune The noise from the IDF's is awesome....i love it so much The spec of the engine is very driveable with only a mild cam. Greet Totti

Now that is a beautiful Mark 1. A real credit to you, it's been beautifully finished. And the 4 door?

Hi! Years ago i thought about a Zetec-conversion.....i buy all the stuff for a lot of money, but than:The Oilpan does not fit on a LHD car!And some other stuff too.... So i drive the Pinto .... But i think it's time now for a secound try! Today i pull the 2 liter block out of the shed ... The Flywheel is always machined to get the Pinto clutch.... I don't like the new style V-ribbed belt so i make my own belt system that look oldskool. If the engine is in the car;later;and it's running i will go the BDA lookalike route with the Camcover etc. So i search in my workshop for the right pulley and found one from a Fiesta 1,6 Diesel.I change the flange...same diameter from the shaft! The old Zetec flange.... The new hybrid pulley.... lining up ....... My mate has got a lathe and will machine the crank pulley to take the belt.... More to follow.... cheers

Hi! Last week i startet the "dry fit" to have a look. When there is to much changes to make i will stay with the Pinto... So,first get out the old lump.... For the Zetec i will go back to the 4 speed Rocket-Box....better gear ratio's and the Gearchange is much better. Here we go.... Looks not to bad!The battery can stay! And enough space for the Brake servo.... The Alternator will fit without hassle.... So,no major changes!I can get back to the Pinto without problems any time. But there is one problem with the Manifold and the Steering column... I have to change the pipe route on 3 pipes.... This took alone 3 days of fettling..... To this... Next was to relocate the gearlever hole... Kindergeburtstag! Thanks for looking! Cheers

Love the car and what you have done with it i had a daytona yellow mexico back in the day and wish i had it now !! The only thing i want to point out is that each of the manifold branches should be of equal length from manifold to collector this being the reason they look like a bunch of bananas, I don't want to P on your chips especially after spending 3 days on it ive just spent the weekend doing my own manifold so i know what a pain it can be

Thanks!! ;D Yes,you are right!I know about the equal lenght of the pipes....but for now it's the only way for me.There is a LHD manifold from Retro Ford but than i have to bin the brake servo......and 428 quid I don't know how much hp the engine lost with my manifold....i will see The Zetec will stay OEM,no plans for big power, cams etc so i hope it will make 160 hp. Cheers
