Here's a general overview -
1993 (K) Passat 1.6td in light mettalic blue
155k miles
8 owners including myself (previously owned by my dad)
No service history as such (cambelt changed in 2007)
Long MOT with negligable advisories
Tax
Recent bill of £130 for front brakes
NO RUST
Good tyres
The car has a B4 CL (I think) interior, the standard B3 door cards are fitted though, the colour matches but the pattern doesn't. The B3 interior that was fitted was worn and very uncomfy, the new interior is very clean and alot more supportive.
I am trying to paint an honest picture of the car as the last thing I want to do is spin you guys a load of lies. With this in mind I will try to list the cars faults as accurately as possible -
The clutch is (I think) worn, it doesn't judder or slip but the bite is at the top end of the pedal travel
There is a worn engine mount, I am not sure which one though
The car is started with a starter button and the key, possibly due to a faulty ignition switch?
The drivers window is difficult to open and close
The drivers side rear door lock is stuck in the lock position? (Not sure on this one)
The horn doesn't work and the steering wheel rubs when turned
It doesn't have a head unit (I may be able to sort this for the right deal)
And of course there is the usual car park scuff and trim clip broken.
Like I said, I almost want to paint a bad picture of the car so any interested parties would be (I think) pleasantly surprised. I seriously believe an afternoons work and a B3 in a scrap yard will sort these problems out.
It is an excellent car, I've covered 50 miles a day for the past 6 months with no problems, it returns me 47mpg, cruises at 80mph and is VERY comfy. I believe it is rare to find a rot free B3 too.
Thanks for looking!
