Copying a thread from the NSRA forum, what's in your garage or on your drive? Just old cars or have you got other stuff? Here's what's in mine, got a couple of things in there at the moment. This is in size order. 1st, my Anglia. Been in the works for just over a year now but it's nearly there and now sporting a flipfront: 2nd, chopped bike #2. Board track racer style cut down from an early prewar bike. I hade no idea it was so old until afterwards. I sold it this weekend which was cool: Movie: www.rodsfolio.com/uploads/bike/MOV00028.3gp3rd, chopped bike #1 stretched, lowered and raked 70's shopper with pulled out bars: Movie: www.rodsfolio.com/uploads/bike/MOV00026.3gp4th, jet scooter. Pretty dangerous this thing with no throttle or brakes. Scary to run, frightening to ride: I decided the jet skateboard was too silly even for me: Finally my industrial pogo stick. It's a welded frame made in 2" tube with a 165lb 10.5" car spring on it for the bounce. It's pretty vicious but jumps about 4 feet up if you get the spring to bottom out. Everyone has got hurt who's used it so far which is cool: Edit: that's an 80's party by the way, not me on it unfortunatley. I've got a 125 bobber on the go pretty soon too, but all I have so far is the tank. 125 so's I can ride it on my CBT of course, cheapo style.

Good work Jonny like the pogo idea and the 80's party looks fun, If i'd only learnt to weld! Diverse? Hmm not as much as i'd like but they are all in their infancy and the briefs keep changing. they all currently need to be fun to drive at the mo. First of all a small old pic of my only finished project. Freeagent racer/freestyled framed machine. started out as a newschool mongoose frame and forks i found! bought new bits then ended up with all new mid skool (made that up) frame finished in general lee orange. built as allrounder fast and light, really like it but i am too old for breaking myself! The cars are not as diverse as i'd like all from the 80's. V8 Sierra is gonna get some period toches and be an allrounder but would like to fine tune it for the track too later, and give it a make over. MR2, is meant to be a daily, I have not loads of money in it and its a hoot to drive. gonna be a kind of post apocolyptic ghetto pocket rocket, a long wat to go with this one yet, it could even get sold. Sapphs not really a project, although it does need work, its just a daily. I'd love to get involved with really old stuff, french tat, Yank tanks etc etc, but not yet. Diversity is what keeps me ticking.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

just the two for me, both vehicles - both cars! so i've already lost this competition in a big way 1972 VW Type 3 - will be track weapon, just getting it rewired and it needs paint and seats. Been saying that for two years. 1990 Astra GTE ragtop - needs welding, then it'll be daily driver just in time for winter.

Hmm....! Mira Classic Turbo which is my daily driver, I'm modifying it to 100hp (stock 64) to keep as my daily driver just with more power. I'll also sort out the suspension and get some classic Japanese wheels for it. Once I've done that I will probably do very little other than maintain it, it's a lovely car to drive every day, good mpg etc. and I don't want to do anything that really cuts across that. Plus it's a rarity and I don't want to do anything I can't change back. Mira/Cuore TR-XX Avanzato R4 is a different matter, I'm going to modify it to 150-170hp (stock 64 again) and use it as my special car. I want it to be uncomfortable, noisy and terrifying. I'm going to chip out all the soundproofing then recarpet it, no radio, haven't decided if I'll have the back seat yet (depends how it looks, don't want to draw too much attention by having it really obviously stripped out). Probably junk the aircon too. So as diversity goes between models, they're the same series, just one is 3 door, one is 5 door. One has a 3 cyl turbo, one has a 4 cyl turbo. So it's slight. But in terms of what I'm doing, radically different really.

Well, there's the long-term Alfa 75 project: The blown-up MZ ETZ300 And, finally, the recently built Hongdou 200cc trails bike. This is how it arrived: And this is how it looks now: (OK, so it's brand new, but it's retro in a way, being based on a 1970s Honda design)

Some interesting stuff so far, expecially the rocket scooter LOL On the go at the moment... The Olds will be my daily again when I sort that damn trans out. One day The Buick will be fill-in Daily Driver while I'm doing that, flex plate sorted, waiting on a starter motor for it (so far not diverse - 2 mid 60s GM American barges even in the same colour!) The Plymouth, an unhappy car. The Celica, Em's car and my daily at the moment while other things are being fixed on the days she's not using it The Ventora. Photo of car taken a long time ago.... Will be back on the road some time. Theres also another FD (a Victor) waiting in the wings and a Capri. No bikes or anything but I do have a grandfather clock to restore

Only car based stuff really. The viva - now (sloooowly) sanding down and V8'ing it. The capri - modifying and burning about in general with a tuned pinto or the zetec I got laying in the garden. The focus - keeping going and in good nick, as well as using it as daily lugger. Have to strip it out to fit all the curse word I need in - who said performance tuning had to cost anything?

Well, the cars you probably mostly know... Sun-Tor, undergoing some mile custom flavour at the moment, here seen in use at the weekend. The Herald, still awaiting its re-con driveshaft and rear lowering block as Katie keeps using it anyway! Might get it done tomorrow if the weather's OK. And the Oxford, being rather neglegted, awaiting lots of attention to body, suspension, engine. Well everything really! Started up fine on Friday and Sunday when I needed to move it to get the trailer in and out. Kinda car related is the sun-dial that hasn't progressed any further as yet... And here are some current work projects. Victorian era tricycle automata thingy. Top secret low volume clock replica project.

Cool projects! Jonny - that shopper bike is ace, my Dad has a collection of old bikes he likes to tinker with including several of that type, also he has a Raleigh 'Runabout' (?) which is like a little motorbike type thing, think he wants to get rid of it actually. Mine aren't diverse at all I'm afraid... 1. Daily driver Mk2 Golf 16v. Slowly but surely progressing, standard looking apart from low with steel wheels I recently added but with Audi 2L 16v engine, VR6 front brakes, lots of uprated bits and bobs. Taking it to the 'Ring again shortly, then fitting new P&P'd head and manifold when I get back Kind of an ongoing 'upgrade mechanical bits' project. 2. Mk1 Golf. Very early 1975 'swallowtail' model so not going to mod it much as they are hard to get hold of now. Needs some minor restoration and a respray really but I like the original paints 30 year 'worn in' look so might keep it like that. Currently replacing the exploded radiator, working on brakes and continuing fixing mechanical bits that didn't like being stood unused for a few years before I got it. General condition is very good for the age of it though, only done 35k miles! ;D

Hmmm diversity... Well I have the BMW which is probably about as 'done' as it's going to get for a while... any further 'modz' require vast capital investment that scares me silly. The newly-aquired Slumber Septic is in need of some paint and general tidying but it's not going to be a massive project. I think once the paint is done and the chrome is all put back into place it will be the nuts. Add to that a healthy beating with 'the stick' and some tasty rotating hub / road interfacing appendages and it's all there. I -could- get into the realms of engine swaps with it, but that isn't really what this one is about... just something for cruising about in And besides, I only have a tiny budget for it... all my other spare funds continue to get sucked into the never-ending 'refurbishment' of my tatty old crock of a house. Barring a couple of bits of cosmetics and some new carpets, it's nearly all done. But when it is I've got to start over with adding extensions onto it. ARGH!!!

Hmm...well on the drive are my 2 scorpios; the lowrider gets bits and boobs done as and when. re-painting it the last weekend of august, the hack is just that at the mo,I haven't even got round to lowering it. The Lexus needs the igniton sorting out as the barrel has slipped for some reason unkown to anyone (in my experience LS400 owners don't really get their hands dirty,so finding out stuff is pretty hard going). Also on the dirve is a GPZ500 that needs new forks and a headlight, may go down the cafe racer with this one. Quite a long story as it was my dads from around 1991,then after he died in 98 my mum held onto it to ride every now and then. She then sold it onto a mate of mine last year who subsequently had it backed over by another mates works van, then had to bail on it after a guy pulled out on him, thus bending the forks and obliterating the fairing. I offered to buy it off him as it obvously wasn't doing him any favours (apart from the £1500 he'd made in insurance claims) so I now have a 12k mile f-plate EX just needing a front end. It was gonna be chopped, but think a quick cafe racer make over will go down well. In a mates barn I have my two Yamaha TR-1s (981cc v-twin) One is being rebuilt as a cafe racer (spot a trend?) as I've got the alloy tank,rear-sets etc for it. Already done a wheel conversion and fitted fzr600 wheels and brakes. Had the engine rebuilt by Edgar Hedley in 99 then it dropped a valve courtesy of the cam spinning in 01. I rebuilt the top end, only to find it had developed an electric problem meaing the strating circuit didn't work. Hasn't been touched since The other TR-1 has been a bit of a parts donor, but the plan is to build it up to run in the Supertwins Drag series, and I wouldn't mind having a crack at twin turbo-ing it or fitting a blower. We shall see...
