I know of one of these for sale...identical to this one...80bhp injection (non turbo) Imported, just MOT'd, taxed, bubbling around rear arches (repairable), lots of spares included. What do you reckon on these little bad boys then? ;D

Meant to be hella nippy, theres a fila version with fila interior i think, obviously the turbo is the one to go for. but even so these normal ones are rare. i wanted one as a first car but couldnt find one! if its good condition id get it if i wanted one cause they're getting rare due to all of them rotting out.
cheap to run an all that - power to weight ration should be good too! 10sec 0-60 i recon

One of these was on my shortlist when I was looking for my first car. From what I could gather, they used a lot of Fiat Uno parts, and used some sort of U-beam rear suspension which wasn't supposed to be terribly good, if memory serves... I could be talking bobbins though! I'd still like one, just for novelty value as they're so rare. Bet they rot like a b@stard!

I had a black Y10 'Fila' on an F reg in '93. I had it for just over a year, the handbrake cable went so I used to leave it in gear if I parked on a slope until I could fix the cable. Just as I fixed the cable the gearbox went! curse word! It was very economical though, 993cc f.i.r.e engine and a 5speed. It also had a funky blue 'Fila' interior. I wanted a turbo originally but couldn't find one anywhere.
I had to have it re-sprayed too, they rusted really quick! (it was only 5 years old!) It was better than a cinquecento in my opinion.

Was the rear suspension not like the Very old Ibza's, Basically a leaf spring going the width of the car. They do look very UNO'esk, Nice indeed

They do look very UNO'esk, Nice indeed I think you're right there - I recall some sort of crazy rear suspension shenannigans...the set-up wasn't supposed to be as good as an Uno, but was marketed as an up-market Uno. Hehe Fila interior. Chavtastic!

Cheers boys. I had a look round it today, it's like go go gadget inside, the rear windows are even electric! They are the type that push outwards (thats what surprised me), some sort of old school climate control system, loaded for an 80s hatch!
It's lowered on standard wheels but there is a set of white compomotives that come with it wrapped in slicks. Fast road pads etc.
I think it would good on matt black superlites...

That's interesting - the FIAT Fiorino van of the era has a leaf spring across the vehicle arrangement at the back too. Wonder if they're the same parts bin.

Wasnt' the rear suspesion called the "Omega" beam or something? Unos had it too (or was it the Panda?)... Haven't seen one for a LONG time. I'd love one, fascinating little car ;D The later Lancia Y is cool too, quite a weird shape:
