I have recently bought a mk1 cabriolet as a non runner, found the problem to be a faulty fuel pump and relay.
On investigation the fuel relay (no number on it?) seemed to be burnt out and had caused a little damage to the fuse box
I have bought a new gti fuel pump and also a fuse box from a standard mk1 (non gti) will this work ok? on checking they both seem exactly the same and the replacement came with a relay numbered "62", i've tried to find out if this is the same as the relay numbered "2" and all I can see is that the "62" has a rev limiter on it and the "2" doesn't
does anybody know what the "limit" is and will this get the car to run or do I need a number "2" relay?
it came on BBS alloys but was also given a set of what i think are standard cabrio alloys but they need a refurb?
anyone have an idea of what they are worth, they all have very good tyres?
i have looked on fee-bay but cant find a single set for sale, don't know if thats a good or bad thing?! ;D
