While we're on the subject of lesser spotted Renaults, these seem to have disappeared too Renault 21s, my parents had one of these in 2000. Don't think I've seen one since, I was only 5!

Ive had 3 11 turbo's, awesome cars. Handling is very good straight out the box. Try to find one without rust though these days, they fall to pieces and repair panels are not available. Parts can be very hard to get hold of aswell.

Electronic model had digi dash 9/11 Turbos rather rare due to boring looks- even with alloys/spoilers and buyers seduced by cheeky 5GT Turbo I'd happily own a 9 over a 5. I love 5s, btw! 5 GT looked liked a busty blonde in short skirt - by comparison 9 /11 Turbos looked like fat lezzers in Doc Martens

The beige ragtop Alliance is only a 9 underneath, on top it is a GTA body which was a supercinq from the A pillar forward, a 9 from there to the B and a different spec from there backwards. The roof was lopped off at the factory and a few hundred pounds of strengthening welded in to take care of the body flex...

My mum and then brother had a Renner 11 1.4 GTL from new to about 15 years old.
It never needed less than £300 spending on each MOT and service.
It was the most wobbly, roly-poly thing to drive (remember my terms of refference LOL) and it understeered like a greased cow on a skateboard.
however - it was well comfy, kinda refined for its age and type, and went well enough. I'd even dare to call it quick for a 1.4 hatch.
It felt to be made from chinese takeaway containers the metal was that thin and tinny and the interior was like the plastic that seed trays are made from.

It was the most wobbly, roly-poly thing to drive (remember my terms of refference LOL) and it understeered like a greased cow on a skateboard. That's why the handling here was described as " Sticks Like Glue". Oddly the metal on mine is a decent gauge and for instance leaning hard against the door with your butt to close it doesn't cause the outer skin to cave in. It feels better made than some contemporary small vehicles. Maybe the presses here used thicker metal, left over from AMC? Who knows. --Phil

The 90s styling thread black one was mine.
I had 2 black ones, 2 white, 1 silver. My mate had a red one and my cus has 2 white ones. (all above were phase 2, phase 1 were not intercooled and lower power.) Some were higly tuned, total sleepers and great fun.
We all felt the need to keep a spare clutch cable in the boot. And lift off oversteer - omg. I would have another if I found one, some of ours looked pretty tasty.
The one in the pic was LHD, I converted it to RHD and rebuilt from bare shell, home made coilovers too.
