locally there are a pair of Rambler Classic 770 station wagons in need of TLC. Price is not far off right. Both are RHD and have the straight 6 in them. One runs one doesn't heres some pics lifted off the web to give you an idea. Dull yank tat, but I'm kinda drawn. I also have too much on at the moment, but, could be got cheap, one could be stripped for part for the other or maybe flogged on complete via eBay. I think the fact the vendor isnists on them going as a pair will be detering buyers. Would have to sell something of mine and its not necessarily an easy MOT and use kind of car (the runner has been off the road 8 years, no idea on the other one) I've come to the conclusion I'm gone in the head to even consider this kind of thing.

A DULL yank tank, DULL??? Look pretty sweet to me! Although I am picturing one in camo colours slammed over camo wheels with red band tyres and the other as a proper lowrider with "money green" metalflake paint and reverse wires MMMMMMM! If you've got the drive to get them I would say go for it better than them being cubed.

It will be more headaches and at least a few weeks of tasks getting one stripped and the other settled in but i do like, look quite charming these things. BTW More temptations in the FS section. Pontiac?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Jeez man make your mind up! 5 minutes ago you never wanted to touch another car? It's a sickness isn't it.. and I think at least half the people on this board have it (me included) There are a few (4 or 5 I know of) in Nottingam now that have run out of storage/working space - we really ought to think about renting some old warehouse or something! I am only half joking...

dull by yank standards anyway.
Actually Ramblers are pretty cool. They feature a strange coil over shock IFS and were unitary construction years before most of the rest of Detroit. They called it "aircraft style fuselage technology". Whatever. The straight six motor is basically the same lump uded until like this summer in the Jeep Cherokee 4.0 litre
I already have a sea of broken cars and it never seems to end! There is no light at the end of the tunnel!

The straight six motor is basically the same lump uded until like this summer in the Jeep Cherokee 4.0 litre So you could junk it and fit a 2.5 VM TDi engine like a cherokee too I guess? Now you're talking. No you're not.... get that Ventora squared up.

looks like an excellent car... get it...! it might seem big but i used to drive my ponch everyday to work including small 'b' roads and even though it is 18.5 feet long and 7.5 wide.. its rhd with very light stearing and heavily assisted brakes.. was no probs at all. when lhd they can be a pain though.. si

I disagree, if you can get them at a decent price, even if to make one good one to fob off on the 'Bay or such, then do it.
Just keep the Ventora and everything else aside.

I'd have to sell some of my current tat to raise the cash and I don't have the space really to indulge in loads of additional cars. black8driver - you've not seen my daily driver have you? 425 big block, and its the body size up from the Parisienne! Its currently not my daily driver as I blew the transmission neutral dropping rolling burnouts... however, thats its official job title. I had a Rambler with RHD a while ago (sold it last autumn in fact) and that confused the hell out of me as it was yank but everything was backwards! Kept trying to change gear with the indicators and stuff. Duh! If I had the space and the cash and the time I'd whop a 401 into one of them, loads of tuning goodies, big loud duals, etc. paint it up as something like a Bonneville support car or a shop car for a (fake) old time speed shop. Daisy mags or slots or something? The other one could get a 4.0 straight six and OD auto trans (or the 232 replaced by a 258 and fitted with Edmunds goodies etc.) lowered, use the better trim off this one to make the other one nice and then shave this one, nice metallic paint job... Hmmm.... The 2.5 TDI also sounds like a possible for a cool daily with decent MPG... Altough I don;t have the time to do half of that.
