Right...more pictures and an update! My first show with BAM was the Retro rides met at Meadowhall, i got some looks and attention, but i knew i needed to do more work to tidy the car up a bit, as not all the comments were favorable! Firstly...show pictures! Luckily i have a week off work, so i started to strip out the interior, as this has been bugging me for a while. The car leaks, and so it smelled a bit funky! Stripping the sound deadening and carpets was easy, and i was suprised by the amount of stuff we removed! Its all very solid, even for 47 years old. So, after a liberal coat of Kurust, we Hammerited the floors. Certainly tidy's it up a bit! Since we were on a roll this afternoon, i also took the opportunity to fit my new seats, an ebay bargain on Friday! I have new door cards waiting to go in, the window seals are going to be ordered tomorrow, and carpets/sound deadening etc is not far behind. The interior should look MINT very soon! I have an idea for the exterior as well, inspired by one of the more well known cars on here...but more of that soon! Phil

Time for an update! I've been busy with the car recently, mainly jobs that take ages and have little to show for it. The main things are trying to get it ready for winter. The headlights were poor, and even on main beam didn't really light anything up, so these were the first to be changed. I converted the car to Halogen lights, and fitted 100% brighter Xenon bulbs. The difference is unbelievable! I've refitted the grill, and adjusted the brakes (again) so its really driving nice! After that lot i thought i'd do a job i liked. Exhaust fumes have been leaking into the car for a while now, and the standard rusty rattly back box did nothing for me, so a morning with the MIG welder and my MGB's old exhaust produced this - It sounds so much better, not too loud (actually no difference inside the car) but has a nice throaty sound now, and should last a while. On a bit of a roll i order the carpets from Malcolm Anderson. Everyone who's into Imps recommends him, and i can see why. Ordered on Monday, received and fitted on Wednesday, and the quality is amazing. I first fitted sound deadening pads, then the foam underlay, then the carpet. It really smartens the interior up and quietens it down too! I want to finish the interior this week, so i need to recover the rear arches, and refit the back seats. Then its just door cards, and paint the doors, and its done. Then i can move onto the exterior. More to come....
