We went straight from the Gathering off for a week and a bit camping in Somerset so only got home yesterday hence this slightly belated thread. Anyhow, I doubt I can add much to what has already been said. Such a good show, really great atmosphere and its just a perfect picturesque environment. Not only that but the layout so suits the Gathering too. Nothing but Retro cars parked all over the place with a strip of tarmac winding its way up the hill through the middle of it all.
At Haynes you either looked at the show or at the track, and the track itself had the frequent (unavoidable) empty times while groups of cars went in and out. No such problem at Prescott as track action was non-stop and being in the middle of the show meant you didn't have to make that choice of what you looked at. I really hope the Gathering can call Prescott its home for years to come.
Anyway a few thanks. To all the organisers and helpers of course for putting on the whole shebang. To Bryn for the tour and to the cake gang for lightening the load. And then the judges who were daft enough to give me an award. It was unexpected and frankly I'm not entirely sure it was deserved considering what else was on the field. I've not won anything before so am not entirely sure what to do with it. But I thank you anyway.
We headed down to the area on Thursday afternoon and pitched a few miles away in a "posh" campsite as my in-laws had come down for the weekend and we were making it the start of our longer holiday too. We weren't that far away though as thats Prescott Hill in the background.
Rolling in to the show at around 9.30 I was very impressed at how full it already was! Here's a selection of photos more here:
