Of course it was somewhat anti-climactic. After RRG last weekend Pebble Beach Concours, Goodwood Festival of Speed AND Hershey Swap Meet all rolled into one would have been so.
That aside, it was just a lil' Bank Holiday local show, and as such still represents the backbone of our hobby. I didn't bother photographing a good 75% of the exhibits as almost without exception I've already done so in previous years. There were still some interesting vehicles to look at, mind.
Enjoy the pics.
Loved this. Had I the choice it's the one I'd have taken home. Nothing ground-breaking, just sat and sounded gorgeous.
Skoda MB is a local car, IIRC it's got highly-modded 130RS running-gear.
Glorious lil' 64 Renault R8. Would love to drop R5 Turbo running gear into the back of one and leave it looking this stock outside.
How's this for a treat? The last-but-one RHD NSU RO80 off the production line. Still running its rotary lump too, none of your Ford V4 malarkey. The factory that made this now churns out yuppiemobiles for Audi....
According to the A4 blurb in the window this gorgeous beetle's scheduled for a total winter rebuild. Looks just fine as it is!!
Far more sensible and practical than a T2. And yet....
If you're detecting a certain level of air-cooled VW bias in these pics, it's because SWMBO is making MAJOR noises about buying a T2. Which isn't unusual, but in the past I've always managed to dissuade her. This time I'm feeling the love, too. I must be getting old. 'Home Is Where You Park It'
TR250 badges pointed to some time spent across The Pond for this gorgeous Triumph.
Subtle lowering job and Minilites meant this Herald drop-top stood out even though it was crammed into a corner.
Not from where I'm standing.
Big Zed managed to look iconic and imposing even with those stupid chrome chip-pan headlight covers.
And finally....
That's my number plate. ;D
