Hi
last problem touch wood for the new B3
was going to track the miles to the tank starting today, cleared the miles on the trip line and then nothing drove 20 odd miles today and nothing this is also the same on the total mile line at the top
is this a common B3 issue and where best to start working on fixing this?

Is the speedo itself working? If it is I have exactly the same problem on my Triumph 1300 and would very much like to know as well  My speedo seems to waver and snatch a little bit does yours? |

My Scirocco's done the same, I'm pretty sure the button's not stuck half way in, as I've pressed it many times since it's happened. (I tend to fiddle with things). I'll give the button a wiggle and pull on it a bit next time I'm in the car on the off-chance though.
I did mention it to a friend who's been playing with VW's for years, and he said it's pretty common and tends to be surface rust on the mechanism, apparently a bit of WD40 normally sorts it. Bare in mind that's 2nd hand info though.

cheers will take the clocks out tonight and see if one of the cogs has cracked or jammed

right fixed the odometer took the speedo to bits and freed the cogs put back together job done
the only trouble is i broke the fragile speedo needle
