Ok My Mk2 Granada 2.8i When I'm stationary,rev it up to 4000rpm. It comes down ok quite quickly to about 1500rpm then takes awhile from 1500 to 900rpm maybe about 10secs Any ideas whats wrong and how to cure  Thanks  |

sounds like your throttle cable is possibly frayed near the end causing it to stick when its trying to return - try checking the pedal with the engine off (this is just a guess though)

sounds about normal to me, as the idle valve will try to prevent it from going straight back to 7-800rpm idle which would normally cause it to stall ;D may be worth checking that the throttle butterfly and the idle valve arent gummed up with curse word though  |

Sounds like a sticky idle air valve to me...

Eh... where would I find the idle air valve on v6 2.8i 1981
Iv looked at my Haynes but cant find.

Ok guys Cleaned the Aux valve with carb cleaner. No joy.
Could it just be knackerd all together?
