Darren, Fantastic work as always. I do like these threads.... You've inspired me to go "out and about" at some point this week. I particularily like the mirrors on the Range Rover Just out of interest, are you getting many emails on the gmail address as a result of these?

I had to go to Team Valley trading estate t'other day to pick up a handbag for the lady half from ParcelFarce. Anyhoooo! Spotted (but I didn't have my camera): Clean gold mkII Gizzolf on ATS Cups (narrow fronts, fat rears, stretchtastic rubber) Obvious-daily-driver Bimmer 2002 in dark blue...Slightly faded. Eighties-look Golf Clipper Droptop on uberpolished P-slots. Bubble-micra (remember that thread? ) - the 16v jobby, in red and rolling LOW on all-black RS-Watanabes...Let down by a massive sticker on the side saying 'MICRA'... M635csi snotter...lacy wheelarches, holes in the A-pillars...But being driven hard and with lots of tyre smoke. *n

Ja, tis a KE70. Or possibly an AE70 as they're basically the same body.
Toyota are kind and their chassis codes (generally) align with the engine code. So a KE70 has a K-series lump and an AE70 has a 4A-series. The AE70 is a bees knees as it's basically an AE86 underneath and it accepts a 4AGE without complaint.

Good work as ever! Very impressed that you found two of the exporters' favourites in the same day, head-to-head rivals when new.
I'd imagine the Corolla will have a K-series engine, think it was the only the liftback and coupe that got anything bigger than 1.2 or 1.3 here.
