So, I had a poke about pretty much as soon as I got the Datsun home and with the help of my trusty screwdriver found the following. Rear nearside: Rear offside: Front wing: A master bodger (possibly the old chap who had it originally) had been at work and crafted large areas from the usual chicken wire/filler/fibreglass/araldite combo. The question is, what's the best way of going about this? I found these (I can't hotlink so you'll need to go All Hadrian Products>Datsun>Bluebird 80-84 I'm afraid) but I have no idea if they're any good. Will they be generally shonky like the aircooled VW pattern panels you can get? I have neither the skills nor the sheet metal tools to make my own. Ta, chaps!

I've recently replaced the rear arches and outer sills on my GTi-R with Hadrian panels. The quality seems okay, but I can't vouch for their overall fit as the GTi-R is a 3-door and they only do the arches and sills for the 4-door, so there were differences around the front of the arch and rear of sill where it would meet the door shut on the 4-door. The rear of the arch was also different, but it's behind the bumper. The front 95% of the sill seemed spot-on though. The way I looked at it was, better to start with something that was roughly the correct shape than to start with a flat sheet. I couldn't get a repair panel for the rear of my Toyota 1000 and ended up trolling though a motor factors looking for something that had the same curve. Ended up using the top half of the front valence from a Metro and a lot of cutting and welding.

Hadrian tend to be better than most pattern panels but ofcourse don't expect them to fit like genuine ones.
i suspect you have no other choice anyway!

Yeah, but the lower rear is just flat so that's easy enough. I'll probs end up with a new lower front too. I just want metal in there really. It's nothing structural, but if I'd left the bodge the rot would just have spread and then that would be a shame for a 41k mile otherwise tidy car. It's always the case that me + screwdriver + new purchase = never good though.

I think I might have a spare front wing. I'll go check in a minute. I have lots of new door skins for a 910 if you want some. take 'em away before I throw them away! It's possible I have a rear valance too amongst the "unidenified/no part number" pile but I'd need a good pic of the rear without the bumper in place to be able to compare.

Just looked and can't find a wing but I did find a new left front door (complete door) and a RH rear wheelarch repair panel which includes a fair bit of metal around the arch.

Have a look at my repairages (rightly or wrongly!) on the MR2 about page 2 or 3 on Readers rides. I was lucky enough to get a bloke in scarborough who fabs up sections for 40 quid a piece through a link on the club site. Doesn't look like too much of an headache TBH.
Will be getting Hadrien parts for the Sapph and 'tina.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Ratdat - I think the doors are all good, but I might be interested in the rear arch repair.
I'm really tempted to do the whole lot because there's little bodges in all the arches. This is quickly becoming a resto and that was not meant to happen! ;D
After all, it'll need paint after the repairs anyway.....
