Its a 1996 Volvo 850 T5 estate, with a manual gearbox and the SE spec, which as far as I'm aware is the middle one - electric mirrors, windows, remote central locking, but manually adjusted cloth seats and no wood on the dash. Think the seats are heated too. 6 CD autochanger. Has the fold-out seats in the boot. Aircon works fine. Has a tow-bar.
Two owners before me, lots of history from the first owner. The second owned it for many years but said that he'd got the work done by a mechanic mate. Unfortunately I don't have any receipts for that but from general condition (and the air filter looked pretty new when I checked that) I'd believe him.
He's also fitted the car with an extra 12-v socket in the boot for camping, fitted a strutbrace which is apparently a Volvo part. Also, the roof rails have been sprayed silver and some front fogs fitted.
There's also some roof bars to go with it.
I've owned the car since earlier in the year as a bit of a stopgap, and its been great. I've had a new set of tyres on it all round just after I got it.
Its generally in good condition - it has a couple of scuffs on it that I'll take some pictures of - but it does have a couple of minor things;
The handbrake needs adjusting.
One of the headlight wipers is missing.
Some small patches of laquer lifting on the roof.
The wheels could do with a refurb.
One of the lights behind the instruments recently went, but luckily its the one behind 100mph+ on the speedo so as a good respectable citizen that hasn't caused me any problems.
Its quick, its comfy, its got insane amounts of space and while not great on petrol its not that bad - I've averaged 31mpg+.
