MOT: 28/3/12
Location: Stoke on Trent
Price: £600
Additional Information:
I bought this old barge about 4 years ago from Minidan, so it has some RR credentials!
Its been my daily driver since then and its seen some changes,
1) LPG Converted, 250 miles to a tank of gas (£30)
2) Golf GTI head fitted with larger valves
3) Powerflow stainless exhaust, from the downpipe back
4) Wolfrace street octane wheels with new wheel bolts and spigot rings.
5) Carb from an Audi 80 sport with gas mixer on top under a chrome pancake air filter.
6) New carb mounting rubber- no more leaks!!
Its also had numerous new parts fitted to keep it ship shape-
Over the past 24 months or so its had new rear drums, wheel cylinders, brake shoes plus new front discs and pads, new heavy duty rear springs and shocks (no saggy bum syndrome!) Recored radiator, new clutch, clutch cable, CV gaiter e.t.c. Basically its been looked after and not run into the ground.
Bodywise its had some welding around the fuel filler pipe (this is a very well hidden common rot spot) plus the rear jacking points have been replaced where a rubber bung has caused the metal to rust.
The front wings have bubbling on the arch lips, but this hasn't got any worse since I've owned the car and new wings are supplied. The PSR door has a scrape at the bottom but a new door in the right colour is supplied too. There are also some small dents here and there but not much for a 25 year old car with 175k on the clock. It still looks smart and attracts lots of positive comments from passers by.
The interior is blue fabric and in very good shape with no rips or tears to the seats, the boot area is also in good order.
The 1.8 engine runs great on gas and the Audi is brilliant on the motorway- it seems to cruise at 80mph and its fun keeping up with the flow of new repmobiles!
Bad points-
Engine weeps oil from the rocker cover
power steering pump weeps (never bothered me but good spare supplied)
Odd thumbnail dent here and there
scabby front wings- new ones supplied
light scrape to bottom of OSR door- new one supllied
Runs a bit wibblepoo on petrol, never bothered me as I hardly ever run on petrol!
Just remembered, there is a slight blow from the downpipe somewhere. It went through the MOT O.K and I can't find it the leak! It could be a chuffing manifold gasket or something. Disappears when the engine warms up.
I broke up an Audi 100 CS a couple of years ago and have stacks of spares to keep this CC on the road for a good few years yet.
Reason for sale? I'm a bit bored of it now and have recently bought a Volvo 240 estate to play with. I'll really miss this Audi when it goes!
