Well what about a mk2 triumph 2500s Not too big not too small, had one running a blueprinted engine twin su's and a pi cam with overdrive box, pulling full weght of hydraulics pluss all luguage and two people would still do over 120mph (on a private road of course and looks evil lowered on the floor. Even returned a goodish mpg figure.

Can the 2500 go round corners anything like a Dolly or is it a cruiser? Not really wanting a cruiser style car quite so much you see.

Get a GT6! My brother has a mk3, which he has had for 9 years now, its a hoot! His GT6 next to my golf! He has dumped a 2.5 litre tr6 engine in it, which has been fettled a lot, as it was sourced from a hillclimber vitesse! That being said he is always fettling with it in the garage, and he has spent a whole lot of money on it! But you will find thats the case whatever you buy in any condition, my dads immaculate TR6 has cost him a mint, and my good condition mk1 golf gti has cost me loads! I'm 22, and my shortlist was similar to yours Dolly Sprint Vitesse convertible Spitfire AE86 (althou the fact their prices are stoopid put me off) Corrado MGBGT Mk1 Golf gti

Would like a TR6 but can't afford one. What is the GT6 like now with the 2.5 in it?

At 3.5k the retro world is your oyster, and that includes the world! You seem pretty keen on the Triumph stuff so go that way if thats where your interests lie. Spitfire?
Anyway 3.5k would buy a mega mint MR2, inc a supercharger if you shop carefully. there is a lot of roughies out there and work may be needed unless you buy the very best. look for my thread in readers rides to see what you may be up against. unless they have been garaged and looked after. Also its amazing how much stuff i have needed to shift since i got my small booted car! LOL

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I think I would rather have a GT6 to a Spitfire really. Went in LewisK78's 1500/Dolly today. Was good, shame I couldn't have driven it at all but alas no DOC cover for me due to my age. Only had stock suspension and some no name tyres too, but was still good. Some decent suspension and good tyres it apparently transforms the handling. Also I am able to get a really nice Sprint for my budget. Really I think it is between the Dolly and GT6. I took Lewis out for a spin in my Focus and he quickly realised that the 2500/2.5PI would not suit my driving at all.

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

penski, no my style really, realised I want something sporty, so the P5B isn't quite the right thing. Looks nice though.
