Just been and put a deposit on a Mk3 3 Door Estate really pleased but have to wait til end of the month to get it. Its got 42000 on it genuine but its tatty as hell due to bein used as a work horse the last 4 years. 1.6 auto but ill search for diesel manual box asap. its got a horific looking oil leak, (Dad seems to think all CVH's were prone for this though?) but by the looks of it, its just the rocker cover gasket thats gone and its built up making it look a lot worse. but ill search for diesel manual box asap. Interior isnt great but hey ho. Its going to stay beat up and rust patches but with nice wheels and a little drop Going to sell the registration number as it starts with X911 XXX. Few questions, anywhere i can get interior trim and paticually seats. Got any advice on swapping the reg as ive got no idea. ive heard of companys thatll buy it and do the paper work but i want a new plate chucked in the deal so that i don't have to get one. Also any wheel suggestions, i was thinking either pepper pots or deep dish slotmags. I'm also looking for a place thatll see a decent k&n and also a lowering kit including dampers. A couple piccys of some inspiration all be it a hatch. Also feel free to post up some piccys

Nice escort mate I'm on the isle of wight so nothing other than scrapyards for me to dig around lol. Ive been thinking a bit tonight, and quite fancied a pair of recaros to replace the fronts and maybe when ive got the cash get the rear bench trimmed to match. But there is a couple bits of the dash missing and also the centre for the steering wheel. ill keep an eye out on the bay. Any more retro 'corts post up, getting excited for picking mine up :DD Ill make sure and get some piccys of it once its here. I got called weird earlier for wanting to keep it tatty  Maybe true but i know of others that think the same way haha

Hi, are you sure it's a Mk3 being a X reg?, is it the same as the one above?

I've got the epic want for a mk3 estate right now. Glad some are still about though. Ebay is always a winner tbh for parts.

Love that hatch, needs lows though I'm really struggling to sort out the number plate though. i want to be able to sell it to a comany (Rather than them sell on my behalf) and them swap a new reg over to my car. Does anyone do this or any advice? Hopefully going to pick it up on friday now. Getting excited

only way to do the reg is to put it on retension to sell and the dvla will issue you with a new age related plate.

Re plate just leave it on car. a 7 digit plate albeit 911 isn't really worth anything. reg cos will exaggerate values, and rarely do they sell. in the mean time you'll pay £105 + 25 quid a year. advertise it and worry about tranfer if a buyer ever comes along. good luck, combi and mk3 estates do seem thin on ground. so nice choice.

Ah thats a shame, was hoping to make the cost back. Well spoke to the seller and he going to clear his 1/4 tonne of tools out the back ready for me to collect >_< It was so gutless loaded up haha. As of yet i havent managed to find the window seals as mine are perished badly. (The ones that run along the bottom of each front window) But i have enquired with new ford parts and ill try the breakers you suggested.
Any more inspiration out there?
